GUAR-G is an off white to yellowish powder.
Applications of Guar Gum (GUAR-G)
- Food Industry : Guar-G is used as a thickener, stabilizer, & an emulsifier in various food products such as ice creams, cheese, bakery products & sauces & also helps improve texture. As it is gluten-free it is used as an additive to wheat flour in baked products.
- Pharmaceutical Industry : Used as a binder, disintegrant & thickener in tablets/capsules.
- Cosmetics Industry : Shampoos, lotions & creams make use of Guar gum for its thickening & stabilizing properties.
- Paper Industry : Guar gum is used as a wet-end additive to improve paper strength & formation.
- Textile Industry : Guar gum is used as a sizing agent to improve the strength and quality of yarns & fabrics.
- Oil and Gas Industry : Guar gum is used as a thickener in hydraulic fracturing fluids to increase the viscosity of the fluid & carry proppants like ceramic or sand into the fractures. The proppants are used in fracture of an oil or natural gas well so as to upsurge the flow of hydrocarbons.
